‘A Tree’
Have you ever stopped to contemplate the structure of a tree?
That splendid living thing without which Nature could not be,
But do we only see a tree, the branches and the leaves?
A thinker sees a great deal more, absorb what he perceives,
The trunk is God Omnipotent, with roots set deep in time,
And God is part of everyone, I can't just call Him mine,
He stands throughout the Ages, bringing strength to those He holds,
How so?.... Well let's explore some more, and see what else unfolds,
Each branch is a religion, there are many to this tree,
But don't forget, without the trunk the branches cannot be,
One branch is for a Muslim, and another is a Jew,
There's Christian, and there's Hindu, and then there's Mormon too,
So all the World's religions form the branches of this tree,
And each branch has so many twigs........... the churches, don't you see?
It doesn't matter where the tree decides to stand and grow,
Just look at it quite differently, and understand and know,
That on the twigs there are the leaves, important to the tree,
The leaves are all God's children, the likes of you and me ,
So next time that you pass a tree, take time to give it thought,
That you are passing by the World's religions of a sort,
Remember, that without the trunk the tree will surely die,
And with the tree will go the leaves, remember.... you and I,
No thing in life can stand alone without God's gracious deeds,
As God so willingly gives you, give back what He most needs,
He feeds you with His love so give Him love that’s unreserved
And do things for His children, and the Tree will be preserved.
